Module 03: Strengthening Management Capacity of POSLUHDES — Developing Rural Potential Toward Agrotourism

Developed by Riza Firmansyah (Universitas Pancasila) and Kania Sofiantina Rahayu (IPB University), this module guides how POSLUHDES (Village Extension Posts) can foster local economic growth through sustainable rural tourism and agrotourism development. It is produced by the Balai Besar Penerapan Standar Instrumen Pertanian (BSIP) under the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Asian Food & Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI).

The module explores world tourism trends, sustainable tourism issues, and new travel behaviors such as participatory and experience-based tourism. It highlights Indonesia’s legal frameworks on tourism (Law No. 10 of 2009, Law No. 6 of 2014, and West Java Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2022) that support village-based tourism as a driver of inclusive rural development and local culture preservation.
