THE COVID-19 pandemic has indelibly changed our world, and the agricultural industry has not been immune to its impact.
Attention is currently on strategies able to be implemented immediately, but the events of today have also highlighted some challenges and opportunities for the future of farming.
Labour management is one of these areas. The horticulture sector is very reliant on labour, with fruit and vegetable producers in the region employing backpackers, Pacific Island seasonal workers and local staff in their businesses.
