Seventh Global Meeting of the Indigenous Peoples' Forum at IFAD

10 and 11 February 2025, Location: IFAD HQ, Rome, Italy

About the Webinar

The seventh global meeting of the Indigenous Peoples' Forum at IFAD, taking place on 10 and 11 February 2025, will focus on “Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination: a pathway for food security and sovereignty”.

The Forum is a dedicated platform for meaningful dialogue, where representatives of Indigenous Peoples articulate their concerns, share their priorities, and propose recommendations to strengthen IFAD’s partnership with Indigenous Peoples and enhance the impact of its initiatives in their communities.

The global meeting of the Indigenous Peoples’ Forum convenes every other year in conjunction with IFAD’s Governing Council. In preparation for each Global Meeting, regional and sub-regional consultation meetings took place throughout September and November 2024 to ensure that the Forum reflects the diversity of perspectives and recommendations gathered from Indigenous Peoples in the various regions.

A unique process within the United Nations system, the Forum institutionalizes IFAD’s consultation and dialogue with Indigenous Peoples’ representatives at the national, regional and international levels.
