The Course’s Uniqueness

The global agricultural landscape is undergoing rapid and far-reaching transformation, driven by the impacts of climate change, the rise of digital innovation, shifting market dynamics, and an urgent need to meet sustainability imperatives. These multifaceted and interconnected challenges highlight the critical need for a new generation of agricultural extension professionals equipped with advanced and context-relevant competencies to support the transition toward resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food systems.

This programme promotes international cooperation by enabling the exchange of knowledge, the dissemination of proven practices, and the strengthening of cross-border professional networks. Through its strategic emphasis on next-generation competencies, it builds the capacity of extension professionals to effectively respond to current and emerging agricultural challenges, thereby contributing to inclusive rural transformation and the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Objectives
•The program aims to orient participants on emerging trends in extension research, practice, and policy.
•It explores global career opportunities in agricultural development and establishes international research priorities and collaborations.
•Participants will also develop cross-cultural communication skills for effective extension services.

Training Content
A wide range of topics including New Competencies for Career Growth, Emerging Research Areas and Research Methodologies, Gender Empowerment, Monitoring and Evaluation, Knowledge Management, Organic Farming, Entrepreneurship, Digital Innovations, Climate Change, Global Opportunities and Policy Engagement.

Participants will engage in interactive sessions, case studies, and hands-on activities to facilitate practical learning and skill development. Eligibility of the Participants
M.Sc and Ph.D Research scholars in agricultural extension/Rural Development/Development studies or equivalent degree are eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate working knowledge of English to comprehend the training content effectively.
