This SAAS Good Practice Note from the sub-regional network, Agricultural Extension in South Asia (AESA).
Extension and advisory service (EAS) providers would need new capacities to support farmers in dealing with dynamic changes. Distance learning is one of the ways to enhance capacity of EAS providers from all over the world. The experience of MANAGE in implementing the Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management (PGDAEM) programme for over a decade offers several lessons for organizing similar programmes in other countries in the Asia-Pacific Region. There should be concentrated efforts to strengthen this initiative and replicate it across countries and regions suited in their specific/local requirements.
